hypothetical drugs that I think are cool (if/when scientifically feasible):

  • Aging/preventative drugs. Aging biology is obviously one of the most fascinating ways to identify & develop tomorrow’s treatments. I’ve become quite bearish on lifespan extension as an endpoint at any point in the next 5 - 10 years. I’m now more interested in anti-aging drugs that restore an acute & noticeable function in people (fat distribution/muscle, vision, etc). This could circumvent the headache of insurance reimbursment and realistically get to mass groups

  • Aesthetic drugs. My skincare & sunscreen is the most boujee thing about me, and I would pay much more for cosmetic pharmaceuticals. It’s not as critical as disease treatments, but I do think it would be really fun to work on. In terms of aesthetic drugs, there’s really only Botox & fillers (along with Kybella for dissolving double chin fat). More scientifically innovative drugs for non-diseases could fold into an emerging consumer drug class.

  • Biodefense drugs. Drug to protect against radiation/nuclear accidents? Better/faster vaccine creation?

  • Performance enhancing (but sanctioned/FDA approved). Enhancing memory/learning, accelerated wound healing, better sleep drugs, neurotech complementary drugs, etc

Will endeavor to add more (current state of research, scientific feasibility, musings on clinical/reg/commercial paths)
